This brace is awesome. I have only used it one day so far, but the locking mechanism is perfect! I thought it would be too much, but I found it easier to get tight than the simple Velcro/single roller type and far superior to leather braces. Also, it loosens quickly by pulling on the bar and pulling the Velcro out to the side. There is a lip on the end of the brace that keeps it from falling all the way out, so I think you can loosen it all the way as needed w/o it falling off, but I just loosened enough to not be restrictive when resting.

So the brace I had was an XL you'd say I was a 285-295lb powerlifter build and I had finally decided to lean out after injuries, car accidents, spinal problems, rehab, recovery and now it was time to focus on bodybuilding mode and just dropping weight, I used the brace RELENTLESSLY and its saved my back numerous times.

I don't use this brace for weight-lifting, but I do a lot of heavy work and this brace is the best I have found for support. It is very flexible and contours well to the body. Much better fit and support than the stiffer and/or wider braces. Back problems are a fact of life of me, and this brace helps quite a bit. I find that the 4 inch width is also very comfortable and supportive when used in the sacrum area (L5-S1) as well as higher in the back when necessary. It is much better for the sacrum area then braces I have tried which are actually designed for that purpose. The locking feature is unique and holds securely. I had a minor issue with a second one of these braces that I purchased and the seller support was immediate and excellent.

I'm not a big, power-lifting gymtimidator. But I do put in 75-90 minutes 5 to 6 days each week at my gym. A lot of circuit training, some days focusing on particular parts of the body. I'm always looking to try new workouts and exercising to improve my mental and physical health. As I have continued to incorporate more dead-lifting and heavier weights in some of my workouts, someone suggested I try a weight lifting brace. Not wanting to have a giant leather brace and buckle around my torso as I'm 5'8 155lbs, I looked for something that would be less intrusive. The size, weight and comfort of this brace are ideal for someone who has never worked out with a weight lifting brace before. It helps stabilize you with heavier weights and removes some of the stress you can put on your lower back in certain movements. The combination of the buckle and velcro keeps the brace in place and its thinner width helps for shorter guys like myself. Very impressed and satisfied with this brace as I will continue to use it on my heavier days at the gym and know that it will help me improve on my growth in my workouts.

Love this Brace. I am short but athletic (Female, 5’4”, 130lbs) and wanted something with support but not super rigid (aka leather brace). The locking mechanism is super easy and low profile and the Velcro stays put. I just set a rack pull PR using this brace yesterday and use it for squats, deadlifts and anything where I want to feel locked in. I’m a long time gym goer and always tried to complete my lifts without any assistance. I’m in my mid 40’s now and I still like to lift heavy and this provides the support without any pain or digging into my hip bones. The owner was great and emailed me a discount code when I returned the first brace and responded quickly to my email. Nice company to deal with. Highly recommend!

I purchased this brace to help my gym routine and I could not be more satisfied. The is constructed extremely well and is very ease to use. Once the brace is locked it doesn't move or loosen.

Lets start with the most important thing about getting a brace for working out, and that's the size. Do NOT go based off your normal jeans size. Be sure to measure! That said, this is without a doubt the best weight lifting brace I've ever used. I have tried the Valero ones with a plastic buckle and velcro. I've tried the double metal fastening ones, and all sorts of other ones. But, each brace has always had an issue. Whether it was the buckle being in in the way, holes giving way, stretching, velcro fraying and coming undone - those things happened. So far, this brace - which is used 3 times for sure and a 4th day a week if I'm going heavy on certain lifts - has stood up to literally everything I have thrown at it. That list: Squats, front squats, deads, sumo deads, cleans, clean and press, rack pulls, bent over row (the Valero buckle used to piss me off on thins one especially), military press, and a whole host of dynamic weighted exercises you want the back support for.

I'm 6'1" 250lbs with a 41" waist and 44" around the midsection and I ordered the extra large, which fits nicely for me. I specifically bought this brace for the locking feature, because I had a velcro brace give away on me while doing 405lb deadlifts 18 years ago and screwed up my back. With many years of therapy my back is getting better such that I wanted to start deadlifting again and have been doing 225lbs so far. I really like the way the brace locks securely and provides support and helps you keep good form. It is a little difficult to get it unlocked, but definitely acceptable. I wouldn't buy another brace without the locking feature. I highly recommend this brace compared to my experiences before with braces that don't lock.

I believe there are different reasons to use different braces, such as this brace vs. a leather brace. I can't use this brace in official powerlifting competitions; however, I truly love this brace. Let me start off by saying I do not like velcro braces. I don't trust them at all. The locking mechanism here is not just velcro. The little bit they added to make the brace self lock holds almost all of the tension, with the velcro as a sort of secondary support. This thing does not budge one bit. I'm confident enough that it could support me even if I did not use the velcro. I bought the red one because I love red and wow is it a STRONG red. I've been using it very regularly for a few months and I haven't seen any wear and tear. Another thing about velcro braces is that they slowly (or sometimes not very slowly) wear down the hook and loop structure. But because this brace has 2 locking mechanisms, the velcro hook and loops are not strained. This brace is inexpensive, looks good, offers support rivaling my leather brace, it's no doubt more comfortable than my leather brace, and it's easy to use. Amazing all around. This company knows how to make a quality product.

Don't let the price fool you. I use a brace for squats over 80% of my max because I have three slipped or degenerative discs in my lumbar and sacral spine. I also have poor ankle mobility, so stabilizing my core while I work on improving my mobility is vital for my training plan. This brace works. I know that isn't terribly informative, but I started browsing Amazon for what I know works. 4" leather braces with a 2-pin clasp or pull buckle from a reputable brand. Translation: Expensive stuff.

I purchased this brace due to a recent lower back back muscle pull from dead-lifting. I recovered for a week and then returned to normal workout. Lower back was still a bit tender. The brace definitely helped with my dead-lifts and squats. Provided extra support and made sure that I had my bracing and form in check.

Tried out the new brace and Man it’s Awesome!! I used the old leather braces for years and no matter how tight you got them they would always move with freestanding T-Bar Rows or Dead Lifts. So I went the Velcro route for a while and many times, right at the point of hoisting up some heavy weight the Velcro would break loose!! Your brace is pliable, stays in place and with the ingenious D-Ring technology (much like a motorcycle helmet strap) will NOT break loose! The Velcro on the brace is just to keep the slack in the brace secure. Also easy release by simply lifting up on the D-Ring. I’m just upset that I didn’t have this idea many years ago! Superior Product and Performs Outstanding!!

I’m so happy that I bought this brace! I was a little worried about the sizing measurements, but it fits perfectly. The quality is superior to many of the other braces I’ve tried, even ones that are far more pricey. You really can’t beat this price for the quality. I really like that it is velcro with a self-locking feature. It makes it super easy to take off and on and it gives me the stability and flexibility that I need. I was a little concerned about it digging into me or cracking under pressure, but I was pleasantly surprised. It didn’t dig into me or pinch at all and it stayed in place like it should. This is a super solid brace and I definitely won’t be going to the gym without it from now on! Thanks.

I purchased this weight brace as an upgrade to the run-of-the-mill nylon brace I've been using; and boy what a difference. The thickness is perfect for my build and there's no give at ALL once this thing is locked down. Moreover the locking mechanism, which initially annoyed me, has proven to be quite useful. I had an "a-ha!" moment when I realized you could still use the brace WITHOUT using the lock. So for heavy lifts and strength training where you want to set-and-forget you get the added safety / confidence of the lock... but you can ALSO use this brace during a high intensity workout that requires you to take it on/off between different types of movements. It's quicker to get on than my last brace, and definitely more secure even without using the lock. One more "attention to detail" feature is that the strap you feed through the ring has the soft-velcro side and not the "sticky" side - meaning if you're wearing gear that Velcro will stick to, you don't have to worry about the strap hanging down while situating and pulling up microfiber threads - this was a huge bonus for me, though most people probably won't even notice. Overall an amazingly well constructed piece of gear that has earned a permanent place in my gym bag.

Hands down this is the best brace I have ever used. It is very lightweight, comfortable, and provides plenty of room for mobility. Sometimes I forget that I even have it on during my workouts. It is very well made and durable as well. The self-locking feature is my favorite feature because I don’t have to worry about it coming loose and moving round on me during a heavy lift. The lifetime warranty and the customer service that you will receive after your purchase is a added bonus. Trust you will not be disappointed if you invest in this brace.

The brace doesn't come undone and stays in place during my lifts. Bought it last November and it still works just as well as the day I bought it. Super easy to fold and store in a small gym bag. Videos for reference.

Been working out for over 25 years. Tried all different types of braces out there. This is by far my favorite. It's functional, not too bulky, and very supportive. It's very comfortable and great for those days where I'm doing heavy squats or dead lifts.

This is a very good brace for the price. I already have a ROGUE and EVOLUTIONIZE powerlifting brace but I needed a lower profile brace for my OLY lifting and this brace came through. I'm a 6' tall 188lbs guy with about a 38" "gut" and I feel that the medium size is perfect for me. The velcro (hook and loop) is secure and does not slip as does the locking mechanism. Once you try this brace it'll be hard to go back to any other. I really liked the stitching as well, it seems to be of high quality. I would definitely recommend this brace to my friends.

The quality is great. I am an experience lifter so I know what I am looking for and this brace did not disappoint. The thing that annoys me though, are the reviews and description of the product itself. It has a locking mechanism which prevents the brace from slipping or loosening during use...and this is a great idea. However, people are commenting that if the Velcro fails the lock will prevent the brace from coming loose. This simply does not make sense. The lock inherently prevents the Velcro from coming loose because the force of the pull during use is 100% on the locking mechanism, so there is no force applied to the Velcro at all...it can't come off. If the lock were on the far side of the Velcro it would be a different story, but Fit-X didn't make that mistake. Frankly, this a testament to the design of the brace. The Velcro will not wear out because the lock eliminates the stress on the hook and loop altogether. The design of the brace actually eliminates the factors which contribute to the failure of normal Velcro closures.

and oh, it does the job very well...I can put this inside my gym bag and bring it everyday because it folds really easily and doesn't weigh much. I'm very happy with this purchase...

I've had the brace for about 7 workouts and thought I'd share my first impressions. I've had a few other braces and this is more comfortable than the others. It's easy to get on/off and gives me plenty of support for big lifts. It's comfortable enough to loosen and wear during superset combinations or other movements where a brace is not necessary. Loving the brace and it seems like it's going to be very durable.

This is the best brace that I have used over the years from trying all kinds of different types and by having a comfortable Velcro brace that has a self locking sliding bar on it to make you feel secure in your heavy lifts that the velcro can not release on you, until you release it by pulling back on it by hand.

I absolutely love this brace. At the age of 57, I started power lifting again. My workouts mostly consist of squats, bench, overhead press, pull-ups and dead-lifts. I was looking for a flexible brace that was easily adjustable, very comfortable and held tight. This brace is perfect. The locking bar holds the Velcro secure. I can make this brace as tight as possible in order to provide maximum core support for squats and overhead presses. The brace does not dig into my ribs like the leather power braces do. And the quality of construction is excellent. I am very please with this brace and would highly recommend it as an alternative to the very uncomfortable leather braces.

Fit-X is an AMAZING small business that has the best interest of their athletes. Whether you are a beginner, avid gym goer, or one who competes at the highest level, their gear suits all! I was hesitant in taking a risk with a smaller not as well known business when I purchased their weightlifting brace, but I am so glad I did!

Only completed one workout so far, but I love this brace. It's going to take a little getting used to as it's harder to get the Velcro pulled to just the right spot, versus using a pre-punched hole in a leather brace. Butt that's the only knock. I felt very stable and tight throughout squats and bench. My favorite thing about the brace is that I can release the pressure with the side buckle, without it trying to fall off or having to set it down somewhere. It also comes with a lifetime warranty I registered for. I measured my abdomen, while bracing as I would during a lift, and I measure 41". The XL is perfect for me.

I have been weightlifting for a long time and been through many different types of weightlifting braces from thick leather to contoured velcro braces, and so far this is my favorite one. I have only used it a few times, but, it’s extremely comfortable, there’s no flex, the self-locking buckle fastens securely and very easy to adjust quickly.

I've used this brace for half a dozen lifting sessions now - deadlifts, back and front squats, snatches and cleans in the 50-90% 1RM range - and like it better after each use. I especially appreciate how firm and non-stretchy it feels. I like the thick nylon without any padding. And it's Spanx-like all over coverage of my midsection without over-hindering my range of motion is nice. Also, very fast and easy to adjust and loosen on the fly and it stays locked once set. I compared this one against 3" and 4" single prong 10mm leather braces and felt this one gave plenty of support without the bulk of leather and was much more suited to my needs as a mostly crossfitter.

I've had this brace for a while now, and I use it for all my lifting. It's a really great and simple design to help secure the brace and help keep all the tightness and tension that you need while using it to help you brace for any lifts. I really can't complain about anything. It shipped fast, it was not expensive, and it's been working great so far for my lifts. I'm about 6'3 220lbs, and I normally wear maybe a size 36 in pants, and the large fits me great. Overall, I think that this is a great investment if you're thinking about adding a weight lifting brace, as an additional tool for the gym.
Chris
Loved this brace! I have used quite a few braces over the past few years and this one is top notch! I notice that all too often braces that rely on velcro alone quickly lose the stability they can provide an athlete because the velcro simply doesn't hold anymore. Not this brace! The self-locking buckle makes me feel secure; I have boosted confidence in my lifts and CrossFit workouts. I used this brace at a competition this past weekend that had weightlifting movements and powerlifting movements and also some metcons, I USED THIS brace FOR ALL OF THEM! This was great because I could quickly loosen the brace if I did not need it for a movement but would not risk it totally falling off my body. I know that it is suggested to turn the brace around to get the buckle out of the way for olympic lifts, but I didn't even think that this was necessary, and I'm only 5'0 tall! Super comfortable.

I purchased this brace to help my gym routine and I could not be more satisfied. The is constructed extremely well and is very ease to use. Once the brace is locked it doesn't move or loosen.

The brace doesn't come undone and stays in place during my lifts. Bought it last November and it still works just as well as the day I bought it. Super easy to fold and store in a small gym bag. Videos for reference.

I would definitely recommend this brace to my friends.

and oh, it does the job very well...I can put this inside my gym bag and bring it everyday because it folds really easily and doesn't weigh much. I'm very happy with this purchase...

This is the best brace that I have used over the years from trying all kinds of different types and by having a comfortable Velcro brace that has a self locking sliding bar on it to make you feel secure in your heavy lifts that the velcro can not release on you, until you release it by pulling back on it by hand.

Outstanding multipurpose weight lifting and training brace. We unfortunately received the wrong size due to a fulfillment issue at the Amazon warehouse and reached out to Fit-X. Immediately the owner personally responded regarding our situation and provided the absolute best customer service you could wish for and have come to expect since Amazon set the bar so high.

Michael
I purchased this brace due to a recent lower back back muscle pull from dead-lifting. I recovered for a week and then returned to normal workout. Lower back was still a bit tender. The brace definitely helped with my dead-lifts and squats. Provided extra support and made sure that I had my bracing and form in check.

Thanks.

Been working out for over 25 years. Tried all different types of braces out there. This is by far my favorite. It's functional, not too bulky, and very supportive. It's very comfortable and great for those days where I'm doing heavy squats or dead lifts.

Ada
I've had the brace for about 7 workouts and thought I'd share my first impressions. I've had a few other braces and this is more comfortable than the others. It's easy to get on/off and gives me plenty of support for big lifts. It's comfortable enough to loosen and wear during superset combinations or other movements where a brace is not necessary. Loving the brace and it seems like it's going to be very durable.
Patricia
Kisha
